Psychoeducational Assessment

A psychoeducational assessment is designed to evaluate whether a child qualifies for special education programs or therapies to enhance school performance. The focus tends to be on achievement and skills needed for academic success, rather than obtaining a snapshot of many different brain functions. While generally these evaluations do not diagnose learning or behavioral disorders caused by brain function or development, this service will also be comprehensive enough to provide necessary diagnoses.

What is included?

• Intake/Interview with client or parents

• IQ + Academic Testing

• Scoring and Evaluation

• Parent Feedback session

• Child Feedback session (if applicable)

• Summary Report (including diagnosis)

Brief Screening

A brief screener will evaluate cognitive functioning in a specific area (e.g., academic, attention). This evaluation will give an idea of how an individual is performing across various domains (e.g., Reading, Writing, Mathematics, memory) and can provide information on strengths and weaknesses. While this evaluation is generally inadequate to formally diagnose a learning disorder, it can be useful to provide a snapshot of current performance in any target area. This assessment is also appropriate to diagnose some neurocognitive disorders (such as a Dementia process).

• Targeted Testing

• Scoring and Evaluation

• Feedback session
